Yesterday I had very sweet time with dear friends that I don’t get to see often. The loss of a wonderful man and also a dear friend brought us together. Lots of full moments and rich conversation; I’m grateful. And after catching up on work, life and kids, here are the insights and takeaways about my work right now –
- It’s clear in my mind what “meditation for wellness” means but that doesn’t mean it’s clear to all.
- Some people immediately acknowledge – “Mental health, that’s so important.”
- Some laugh (the best part about joining with true friends… they don’t blow sunshine.. 😉).
- Some lean in and ask to learn more.
Regardless, it’s my job to make sure I communicate well, what is meditation for wellness, why do we do it, and why do it with me!! So here we go! 😃
Why is wellness needed?
As you may already feel in your organization, the work landscape is in need of wellness support. Impactful findings from recent workplace surveys show how important wellness is to employees:
- 76% of U.S. workers reported at least one symptom of a mental health condition. (From: Mind Share Partners 2021 Mental Health at Work Report)
- 84% of respondents said their workplace had contributed to at least one mental health challenge. (From: Mind Share Partners 2021 Mental Health at Work Report)
- 81% of workers reported that they will be looking for workplaces that support their mental health in the future. (From APA’s 2022 Work and Well-being Survey Results)
And these aren’t the only staggering stats out there. In conversations with schools and organizations across Ohio, we’re learning that the use of EAP programs has vastly increased, that employees are struggling with various mental health experiences, and that teachers are dealing with more trauma in the classroom than what they were ever trained to support. For those in the workplace, this likely comes as no surprise.
Wellness needs to be a priority now more than ever. Our valued employees are explicitly asking for support. With strong wellness initiatives, we have the opportunity to address the root cause, not band-aid the symptom or burnout jumping from one fire to the next. Hello stress response! – which is something big we teach on.
We’re talking long-game here: What will be the difference-maker for steady success, wellness and consistent progress in schools and in businesses?
Meditation practices are part of the solution.
Why Meditation for Wellness?
Neuroscience supports how intentional and repetitive meditation can internally arm us to be better prepared for challenging life moments and reduce the experiences of mental health challenges, stress, anxiety and burnout.
At WorkWell, we’ve combined our deep understanding of neuroscience and carefully crafted meditation classes and wellness offerings to support staff, administrators, management, and community in all workplace settings.
Why WorkWell?
We Have Fun
We believe that you won’t do anything unless you actually enjoy it; our classes support you in finding the joy in your wellness journey, and cultivating practices you really want to come back to again and again. Whether onsite and in person, or online in our on-demand and live offerings, we promise – fun is a priority!
WorkWell Removes Barriers to Meditation Practice
We recognize that time is hard to come by. That’s why we created a program to be accessible at a time that’s most convenient for you. Participants can plan ahead and join us for a live class scheduled on our calendar, they can learn at their own pace, or replay live courses if they can’t make it every week in real time.
We also love coming to your location! Live, onsite facilitation is a great way to engage employees and provide the direct experience of meditation, nervous system regulation and learn new practices to support mental health and wellness.
Meditation and Wellness Plans Made Affordable
One-off classes and individual memberships can get costly. Individuals may not have the income to pay for these experiences.
With WorkWell’s Virtual Learning and Wellness model, we make it affordable for schools and businesses to benefit from a lower price per person. And we make it easier for organizations to offer wellness and meditation as a continuous health benefit all year long.
Consistent Practice Made Easy
We’re here to be your “easy” button.
WorkWell takes on the responsibility of employee and educator communication. We support employee engagement and provide administrators and managers consistent opportunities to engage their teams. When you move forward with our wellness benefits, we will track engagement and promote ways to encourage consistent practice.
